Tarlac State University - Graduate Students’ Organization (TSU-GSO) conducted a Quality of Life and Career Pathing Seminar-Workshop at Saint Rose Catholic School, Inc. (SRCS), Paniqui, Tarlac, on August 17, 2013. The seminar-workshop is aimed at analyzing the quality of life of the members of the Faculty and Staff of SRCS and suggesting appropriate institutional interventions.

Dr. Myrna Q. Mallari of Tarlac State University set the happy mode of the seminar by presenting a paper on Global Education. Atty. Robert John I. Donesa of Mabalacat City College presented the research results on the Quality of Life at St. Rose Catholic School, Paniqui, Tarlac.

The assessment of the quality of the life at SRCS was based on the Quality of Life Questionnaires (QLQ) developed by Dr. David Evans and Wendy Cope. QLQ analyzes the quality of life in terms of General Well-being, Interpersonal Relations, Organizational Activity, Occupational Activity, Leisure and Recreational Activities. These scales and items are theoretically defined and empirically tested.

Two weeks before the said Seminar-Workshop, QLQ were distributed and answered by the members of the faculty and staff of the school. The results were tallied and analyzed by Atty. Robert John I. Donesa with the generous interpretive guidance of Mrs. Amelia Z. Macapagal, RGC, a respected clinical psychologist in Central Luzon. The results plus experiential inputs were presented during the said Seminar-Workshop.

The students of TSU EDMA 502 Class (Human Resource Management) facilitated meaningful activities and games. The Seminar-Workshop ended with a simple Career Pathing activity where the participants were encouraged to draw a picture of their lives and careers in the next ten (10) years with milestones for every three (3) years. The Career Pathing is designed to help the participants have a sense of direction.

In general, the Seminar-Workshop was a success. It is a joint project of TSU-GSO and EDMA 502 Class under the tutelage of Dr. Myrna Q. Mallari, who is also sitting as the Vice President for Administration at Tarlac State University. Special thanks to Sr. Marisor Fabros, O.P., SRCS Principal for inviting the TSU-GSO to their school.
